Have watched this place being built from its dilapidated shell for a couple of months and have been looking forward to it opening.  So booked up with a friend of mine and down we went.  They have done an amazing job with the place,  it looks fantastic!  The aesthetics of the place are beautiful and great atmosphere, a little warm but that's OK.

We were seated right away for our prebooked table and the staff member was really polite and chatted to us about the menu and our day which was lovely.  We had several staff over the course of the evening and everyone of them was great, couldn't fault them.

Food was delicious!  They had a Chicken & Haggis soup which was absolutely phenomenal! I forced my friend and husband to have a taste, which is unusual as i dont share food... like at all.  As with all Buzzworks places the food is a little bit pricey, not too much, but it is worth it what with the quality and range of dishes available.

Drinks are pricey.  £4.10 for a pint of Guinness and cocktails looked cheap at £5.50, but when i ordered one and the glass came it was a wee glass Malibu Barbie would feel more at home drinking from.  Was a delicious cocktail though.

All in all a superb night, loved it and would highly recommend popping in for a meal with chums.

**From the perspective of a Canadian tourist**I'd really give here a 3.5 I think.  Came for breakfast around 10am on a half sunny/half rainy Monday morning in May.  Found parking spaces in a small driveway around the block.  When my friend and I stepped inside, the place was mostly empty and we were greeted immediately, given a table in the center dining area.  Large, beautifully decorated restaurant with a big bar, rustic wooden feel, fabric chairs, some natural lighting, pretty modern style in general.  I found service a bit slow, but my friend who lives in Scotland said it was normal there.  And our server, albeit very friendly, forgot a few items that we ordered, so we'd have to ask a second time.  I tried the Vegetarian Breakfast (5.95 pounds.  Tomato, mushroom, potato scone, beans, toast with choice of egg).  It was a big meal and I was just able to finish it.  The beans came in a small metal tin on the plate, the mushroom was one large portobello, the potato scone looked like a small triangular pancake to me (which I guess is what it is, not what we call scones in Canada at all), also a small pancake was tucked under there.  I was happy with the meal in general and the price was definitely right!  My friend had the pancakes with syrup (2.95 pounds) and she said they were quite good and standard, but wishes they could be made with some fruit or something.  I also learned that in Scotland they call coffee with milk "white coffee' and it's like a latte (they don't normally serve just regular brewed coffee like Canada).  I'd definitely go back here though if ever in the town again.

Had lunch at the corner house today.  The setting is lovely.  Lots of different seating arrangements.   We opted for the 2 course menu at £14.95.

The chicken pate starter was excellent.  Two small wedges of bread with a hefty slice of smooth pate with some onion chutney.   Simply beautiful.

I chose the haggis & black pudding olives.  I received 3 thinly sliced rounds.  Very disappointing.   I would have preferred one whole olive.  Presentation was lovely - the gravy was salty.

Staff were attentive.   I will definitely return.
